Venue : Bangkok, Thailand

The Asia Pacific Forum of National Human Rights Institutions (APF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is holding a workshop on the role of national human rights institutions (NHRIs) in promoting and protecting the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex people (LGBTI) in the Asia Pacific region.

To take stock of the progress and challenges NHRIs have faced working on LGBTI issues since the APF ACJ report in 2010, to chart a way forward in LGBTI human rights work in the Asia-Pacific, and to inform development, including health, programming in support of that work, UNDP and APF, in conjunction with ESCAP and the Asia Pacific Coalition on Male Sexual Health (APCOM), will hold a two-day workshop on NHRIs in promoting and protecting the rights of LGBTI on 24-25 February 2015 at the United Nations Convention Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.
