12th Saarclaw Annual Conference and 9th SAARC Chief Justices Conference

The 12th Saarclaw Annual Conference and the 9th SAARC Chief Justices Conference shall be held on 24th  - 26th May, 2013 in Thimphu, Bhutan.

The topics for the conference have been formulated so as to relate to the democracy, constitutions and rule of law in the SAARC region considering the pervasive changing values that include structural, social and institutional. The topics may discuss and reflect the historical, cultural and socio-economic benefits that have been significant to the region. 

The Conference shall mainly focus on Child Protection, which reflects the importance of the child with a common global and regional concern and implication. As of now, the confirmed topics are:
  1. Mapping of current/existing legal provisions related to child protection. Identifying of gaps and challenges;
  2. Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, Trafficking/MCA;
  3. Child Labour;
  4. Legal Framework for child marriage – Existing Legal framework for corporal punishment; regional and national action.
